Hi,

Im struggling to get this view to look right. Ive been playing around with the eye elevation and target height but nothing seems to work. It is a very small bathroom and the perspective looks distort. Please let me know what I can do?

Make sure your eye elevation and target elevation are the same height. Sometimes for smaller conditions the axonometric view is better than the perspective view.

Matching eye and target elevation should help, but in such small spaces, it is never easy to do what a camera can.  Place your camera as far away from the subject as possible, and try the "Increase/Decrease Focal Length" tool [open navigation wheel, hit the little down arrow, and select "Increase/Decrease..."  If you would rather have a "Fish-Eye" look of a wide angle camera, you can render in the cloud and ther select the image.  You will have some options under "Re-Render As..."  I think one of them is a full panorama, then you can chop out the portion you want in photoshop.

How I proceed in such a case:

  • As was said here , it is important to have Eye Elevation and Target Elevation at the same height....for interior Camera views I suggest a lower height that the eye level - I use ,for instance 1,50 or even 1,40 instead of 1,75
  • try to position camera , as possible perpendicular on one of the walls
  • if the room is a very small one , I use a trick - I  place the camera outside the room space and then hide the wall that stand between ( camera and target) - this works well for hidden and shaded views. This  method works well in rendering for artificial light . If , there is a natural light , then the problem became more complicated and it will be necesary to make a sort of black box around the room in order to control light......
