Permanently Hide or Isolate

I've saved some selections of objects I want isolated.    Is there a way to select inverse in order to hide everything else?   Isolating is temporary and doesn't seem to last past the save.

  • Temporary Hide-Isolate can be made permanently by checking by using  Apply Hide-Isolate to View. So, create a duplicate of the View and then apply this option - 1
  • You can also Save your Selection , Edit it and then Load it when required - 2

  • You will be able now to load the named selections on every View, and edit them if required from Manage> Selection

  • As for inverse selection .. Load the Saved Selection and from Temporary Hide-Isolate , chose now Hide Element and you will have the inverse selection....
  • You can create multiple Saved Selections to use them while working
  • You can also use Assemblies and Groups to Isolate collection of entities.....

Another option would be to isolate it by creating a group and then linking the entire selection as seperate file, but to be working in seperate files is probably not desirable in your case.

Why do not create filters for those elements?

In fact when you save a selection set , a Filter is automatically created:

It is a good idea to filter.

I prefer to assign all my elements a mark and filter by mark, in order to give a filtering convention.
