Path Feature in Displace tool not working

Hi guys !

I´ve been wrapping my head around this problem for a while now.  Maybe someone has had a similar issue and knows how to solve it.

Problem:

When I select the displaced element, then select the Path Command from the ribbon and hover over the vertices of the displaced element, the paths do not automatically appear and snap to anything.  They simply do not show up.

How it´s arranged:

The building is divided into 4 zones.

Each zone is its own separate .rvt file and loaded into the current project, into its corresponding workset.

Revit 2016

Thanks in advance!

can you attach the revit file so i can look at it?

is this only occurring in this file?

can you make a generic, new file...add a basic wall (cmu/brick i.e.) and change to parts then see if path lines show?

is your revit 2016 update to latest service pack?

fyi....just tested in 2017 and it works fine.

I haven´t checked the latest updated, guilty as charged.  I´ve been working on Revit in autopilot  mode and not been worrying too much about servicing; the manual process is tedious just thinking about it, besides being so tied up at work to remember to have to do it.

I will asap and see if this is the problem.

I´m afraid I cannot share this file with you because of the policy at my firm.

I have tried the same process I used in the initial project, but in a simplified file and with generic families, which I´m sure my firm will have no problem with me sharing with you.

Please find the .rvt 2016 files below.

I'm learning Revit and I was having the same problem, maybe this is what happens:

Paths are hidden, if you press "Reveal hidden elements" you'll see them, just unhide the category and issue solved.

I really don't know why it was like this.

Check from annotation categories that "displacement path" is checked.

This fixed the issue for me. The "Annotation Categories" being talked about can be found under the hot key "VG" or visibility graphics. Make sure "Displacement Path" box is checked.

Thank you for your help.
