Parametric Door Family - Revit 2020

Could you please let me know what did I miss?

I would like this door family to work like this in the model:

After I insert it into the model I want to be able to set 5 parameters that will be different in each instance:

- Rough Width

- Rough Height

- Frame Thickness

- Door Undercut

I want all of the above to be reported into the door schedule, together with:

- Leaf Width

- Leaf Height

The videos show how to create a parametric family. I did that. They do not say how to make it work by instance in the model - could you direct me to a tutorial please that covers this topic?

Rough Width and Rough Height are builtin OOTB parameters which are type by default. If you need them Instance, you will either need to switch them from the ribbon or simply ignore the parameters of the family template and use Shared Instance parameters instead.

For the remaining parameters which you have listed, you can add shared parameters Instance or Type is to your choosing (whichever you see suits the purpose best)

Technically, you can place dimensions, associate them with Rough Width and Rough Height, and change the parameters from Type to Instance.

Practically,  Rough Width and Rough Height are usually driven by Width and Height + a set gap distance so it makes sense to be Type parameters.
