Parametric Detail Component

Hi Everybody,

this is the first time I'm trying to make parametric a metric detail component 2d in the order to insert it in a 3d window family with double openings, so it can displays in plan view instead of the 3d elements.

I've inserted a detail .dwg and created many refence planes to can add parameters. I have bot lines and hautches from Autocad.

But I've found the process very annoying. I think to do something wrong because when it seems to work for one side it give me an error for the other and ask me to remove the refence. As you can see in the picture below the right attachments to reference planes are lost.

Afterwords I want to nest it in a Window family.

How can I sort it out? Does anyone knows?

Unfortunately I started in Italian, even then I hope it is graphically understandable.

I did the left side first, then center and finally the right side but then I recive many error messages.

Hope you can find what I do wrong. Thank you very much.

If you try to flex your family you will receive errors

1Error.png

When you use the "Select by ID" tool you will see that it is caused by the two detail items (filled regions).

After deleting both of them the family (seems to) flex properly.

Just redrawn the two detailed items and the problem is solved.

Note: Always try to constrain to reference planes/lines. To make sure of this I tend to temporarily hide objects that are running on top of these reference planes. Just to make sure I contrain to the reference plane and not the other object.
