Parameters in general families.

i have several families that I need to fill with a new parameter. I open the family add the parameter and then fill it. Is it a very tedious task. is there a workaround to fill the parameter all at once in the families?

What kind of parameter is it (Length, Integer, Angle, etc.)?

You could model an extrusion in the first family and apply the parameter you want copied to the the 'extrusion end' value and then copy + paste that element into the other families. The parameter will be copied.

It is a parameter for finishing. The thing is that adding manually takes a lot of time. Open, closing and overwritte the parameters n families. I checked the internet and they said that we can use a script. My question is if someone can recomend a script in Python or Dynamo. Also if I add parameters to general model families, and then I would like to use in schedules, should always have to be shared parameters or can be normal parameters?

You could still do what I stated and apply the finish parameter to "Material".

If you want to be able to schedule the parameter then it needs to be shared if it is part of the family.

You could also fill the parameter in the schedule and if you setup the correct sorting and turn off "itemize every instance" it would let you fill out multiple families values all at once.

You might find a Project Parameter is useful. They are designed to be associated with a category(ies) so the data can be applied to any number of families without editing the family itself. This is effective when the parameter value does not actually alter the family itself, don't change its size or appearance. It's meant to be able to store information that is relevant to the family but does not alter the family.

so it is a way to apply parameters to materials without opening and charging families?

Ok, I will try to do it. Seems to be the perfect solution to my problem.
