Parameter with functionality like Assembly code and Assembly Description

Hi,

is there any native way of achieving similar functionality like Assembly Code and Description ? Meaning - I would have shared parameter and some table that holds the Description value.

The Assembly Code is great but this parameter isn't available for many elements. I want to create a Shared Parameter that would be available for almost all Revit Elements.

No these are special built-in cases. You might to try something with key-schedules. Unfortunately you can not create a multi-category key schedule.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

The Assembly Codes is just a text file you can mess around with at your liking. Don't know if that's advisable? Some information about the file format: Manage Assembly Codes (autodesk.com)

Hi,

I know, but Assembly Code Parameter itself isn't available for all Revit Elements.

Hi,

not really.
Key-schedules don't provide .txt file functionality like Assembly Codes. Meaning that there is a file with a code - value type structure, so that when code is present, the value is added.

If you're not using the Keynote tools already you could do something similar with it if you create your own custom keynote collection to reference. Otherwise...no there isn't a parameter option to "lookup" from a table.
