Is the Width Dimension in another View, or not in Family.  Maybe it was deleted. Is so, just create another Dimension and Label it with the Width Parameter.  No biggie.

Yeah, I like 'em in Elevation as well. What's the issue?

Because it's in Elevation. Don't like it there? Move it then. Again, it's no biggie.  Whatever floats your boat.

Because the door family template has it that way. You can just delete the dimension label from the elevation view and place it again in the plan view.

My boat would like to float  having it on Ref. level as well as on elevation

can I do that?

You can place the dimension but you can't label it.

If you really what it Labeled, create another Parameter for Width (e.g. "Width 2") and make it a Reporting Parameter.

No.  Unless you add lines/ ref lines/ ref planes at the same location of the existing ref planes and dimension them.  Which is highly not recommended.

Place a dimension, select it and Label it.
