Override Graphics - Element for Linked Revit Model

Hi! Can somebody help me, I need to change the colour of an element (wall) from a linked revit file. I can't select the option for override graphics - element, I can only change by category, and it changes the colour for all wall. Is there any way to change the colour of an element in a linkef revit model? Thank you.

You have to open the link file, select the wall, and add some value to one of its parameters, for example: Comment = "To be painted in host".  Then reload it in your host file, add a View Filter for Wall category, Criteria: Comment equals "To be painted in host", and override the color for this Filter.

Hi @ToanDN! Can I ask how if I received an updated model and had to replace the existing linked file? Do I have to redo the same procedure again? Is there any way that I can make the changes/parameters/filters in the host file instead of on the link file? Thank you so much!

You have to do it directly from the link file. Just ask the consultant to enter that information in their file then.

@Anonymous Hello, another option is to link the Revit file they send to you (either preliminary file or updated one - whatever) to your project file, set the link file into VG "custom". Hide the wall you don't want by element and create a new wall with the same type of wall your consultant used and add some comment on it. This is only my suggestion. Thanks

@ennujozlagam how do you hide an element from a link file? If such override is possible then she can just override that element in view without the need to use a filter. Unless something has changed recently that I am not aware of.

@Anonymous you could copy monitor the wall from the link file to your model, make it a little thicker than the original, then override graphic for that wall. I personally don't like this option because you have redundant element but it's up to you.  Still, asking the other party to enter a bit of info is what I would do.

You are correct.  I checked again and elements from link can be hidden individually in View.  @Anonymous  That can be a good solution.
