Overlayed views printing differently

I have another frustrating problem!  One of those that always happen when you have a deadline to meet so if anyone can help I shall be overjoyed.

Situation is that in two different project sheets I have a number of layered views including a dwg map import, some areas, etc culminating in a drafting view which is simply an Opaque region with a table of lines and writing on top of the region.  On each of my sheets I have placed one of these drafting views of which the second was simply a duplicate of the first then edited to match the text and lines required.  When printed though one of these appears as required with a white opaque background whilst the other is transparent.  See images below

Where am I going wrong?  Anyone help please......

If the drafting view is supposed to cover the map, then the drafting view has to be placed on the sheet after the map.  Also, in the Setup options before printing, for "Hidden lines views" choose Raster processing, instead of Vector processing.

Why don't you use generic annotation family for those tables...you can control them better and toss them on any sheet sheet or view you want!

Makes no difference as you cannot format a note block to have a solid (opaque) background.  Nice idea but it doesn't work sadly.

I believe @JasonLLINDNER suggests that you create an entire table as a Generic Annotation family, with a masking region, lines, text, and labels.  I too think that maybe a good idea.

We don't know what and how many views u are overlaying, what's in each and in which order so it is hard to guess. But as @JasonLLINDNER suggested; if you are already doing it manually on a drafting view, you might as well do it all in a generic annotation with a filled region. Then you place the CAD map and then place the GA table on top either on sheet or drafting view

otherwise...

1. I would generate the tables using a keynote or a block note schedule
2. model a generic annotation with a filled region only
3. place on sheet ... map > generic annotation mask > key/sheet notes schedule

This is exactly the way I did the original with the exception that I used normal text rather than Generic Annotations.

For your information there are 4 overlaid views on top of the map, though where the text is placed it only overlays the map.  My question to you would be how would you model a generic annotation with a filled region and would this create a different result than my text overlying a filled region in a 'Drafting View' which is then placed on the sheet view?

Different workflows, different elements...etc have different behavior (if you see there is no difference, ignore this and the previous reply)...

If you would have said I tried and I can't manage to get it to work...I would have gladly modeled the templates for you and given you even the Dynamo Script which places the drafing views on Sheets and overlays it with the GA Region and the schedule.

BUT for that reply!!! You are not worth it!!! Best solution in such cases is to ignore you
