Out of curiosity: attached detail groups and type of view in placement dialog

Hi,

While I was making attached detail groups, I saw that they have a type of view associated with them.

Does anybody know what the difference is between "elevation" and "section" in this context?

Does this have any impact on how the detail group works?

Thanks!

It may or may not, but you won't "break" anything is you try and fail.  Detail elements are View-Specific elements.

It is just a reference for the placement. In your case it indicates for this model group there are 2 attached detail groups...One placed in Elevation and one placed in Section.

Does it make a difference which you check...?  Usually elevation details work for elevations and section details work for sections...however, only you know what those detail groups are  and  what detail items you included therein. If your detail works for both Section and elevation, then it wont matter lol.
