Organising project browser

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone by any chance knows how to declutter the project browser? Currently at work I've been tasked with cleaning up the views and sheets. Is there a way to make a filter or sub filter and throw all the unnecessary sheets and views into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also - you can use this to organize your Project Browser -

You cans set up Disciplines and Sub-Disciplines to organize your views.

Thank you for the speedy response and help however the sub discipline category doesn't appear in the project browser. May I ask do you know why this might be?Views.jpg

So, "View_Sub_Category" is a View Project Parameter, and you're saying that you don't see it in the Filtering, Grouping & Sorting dialog boxes of the Browser Organization Properties?

Depends upon the Browser Organization that you have selected. It could be an OOTB one or something that has been customized per your office conventions. Step one - select the type of Browser Organization that you need to use.

@barthbradley What I mean is that under "default Analysis display style "there should be  a parameter named "sub discipline" however all I seem to have is view sub category, is this the same field or a completely different parameter? This is what frustrates me with revit, I really feel as an architect it swamps the user with too many parameters.

The highlighted parameters were created by users, not by default Revit, so you can't really blame Revit for having too many parameters.  You can delete any of them as well as add more if you want.  Sub-discipline is just another user created parameter so if you need it, you can go ahead and create it.

You need to be clear on the hierarchy of your sheet and view organizations in order to know which parameters you need to keep and which one can be eliminated.  If you can give a more specific example of what you need then we can help further.

Just to add onto what @ToanDN suggested: Go to Project Parameters on your Manage Tab - there you will find those 3 parameters that Toan highlighted.
