I have been told to write a manual for our CAD/BIM office standards since we do not have one. I am not an author. Is there a link for examples or a guide to use in accomplishing this?

Thank you.

You might consider authoring in a wiki environment. You can then add pages and reorganize pretty easily. If you are feeling daring, you can even have more authors/contributors to the office standards wiki than just you. Wiki software usually makes it pretty easy to format pages as you author.

Here is a list of a number of "free" wiki authroing tools. There are tons out there. I would start by looking at a couple of theses and see if they meet your needs.
