"odd" how? Doesn't look odd to me.  Looks like horizontal cladding.  You can model it by various methods, or just represent it with a Material (Surface Pattern and Appearance Image/Texture).  Which way do you prefer?

when using Curtain Wall for exterior cladding , I use a custom Mullion for cladding unit ( C cassette in my case).

  • I've create a Mullion Profile Family and load it into the Project
  • create , once in Project a new Curtain Wall type with Horizontal Mullions and Empty Panels.
  • the Surface of the cladding is  the area of CW from Wall Schedule
  • the length of the Profiles can be extracted from Mullion Schedule

If you want to model that LOD, then think about how it will be done in the real world. Is it scoring or is it panels?
