I imported my Cad file into revit and i traced over the walls; however it is not printing to scale. Is there a reason this is happening. How do i get my file to print to scale?

As a starting point, did your DWG filke come in at the correct scale? Did you measure a key distance (that you know the value of) on the CAD plan, once it arrived in Revit- to check the Units are correct?

Kind regards,
Ian

Yes, as  @bimscape was saying you need to make sure that your CAD file gets imported at the correct scale.  It is helpful to know what units the CAD file was created in.  For instance, civil CAD drawings are often drawn in decimal units where a unit of 1 equates to 1 foot. To find out what units the file is, Open up the DWG file in AutoCAD and type the 'units' command and check the dialog box.

When you link the CAD file in to Revit, you may need to specifically set the units using the Import Units  dropdown menu. Instead of using the Auto-Detect setting, set to feet, millimeters, or whatever units the CAD file was in.

You need to set a scale for the view, place the view on a sheet, and plot the sheet at 100%.

I'm not sure if you want it to be printed to scale or printed to 1:1 scale.

make sure that the view scale is matching what you want to be printed.

then as shown below, from Print setup choose correct paper size(similar to the paper that you will print on and change the zoom to 100%
