It looks like a curtain panel element. Try using your tab key to select the curtain wall element rather than the panel element, then delete the dashed curtain wall element.

You can't delete individual curtain panels, these are controlled by their host curtain walls. That's why you can't directly delete that item.

Hi,

Yes, it is a curtain wall element, i tried what you've said, it doesn't get deleted.

Thank you for replying.

Delete the host Curtain Wall. Should be there. Try a extra large selection window.

...maybe one of these restrictions are preventing you from selecting it?

Are you able to change it's type to, say, an empty panel? Just asking to see what Revit is allowing you to do with it. Make sure the dashed lines are selected, not the panel itself. And as @barthbradley said, enable all selection tools and use a large window from right side to left side. Let us know what you can and can't do with it if this doesn't work.

I found the delete button on the keyboard sometimes wouldn't work, but select > right click > context menu > delete from menu did.

For those that end up looking here for a solution,

I had one that stumped me for a bit.

It was a nested element that got some of its information from the host element. I could select the nested element but could not delete it. The cut icon was grayed out. I could not change family type and the right click menu option to delete was grayed out too.

Come to find out that it was a nested element and the hosted element was in a different category. And the host was not visible because its category was turned off in the view.

Once I made the host category visible in the view, I was able to select the host and make my changes.

Hope this helps others.
