Non-Flexible Families?

I'm in over my head -- not overwhelmed, just a lot of ideas flowing through my mind.

Please see attached files.  I have created a base cabinet wine rack.  I have two families, each with only one type.  The cabinet frame itself is flexible; however, the wine racks are not.  Is it possible to combine these into one family with two types?  If so, how would I do that?

Hey!  That's awesome, amazing!  Thank you 🙂  But, how do you do it?

I don't have any formal education with Revit...just learning it as I go at work.  How do you put the two non-flexible extrusions into one family?

It is still one extrusion. I just added a donut void around it and the void flexes based on the width of the cabinet to cut the extrusion to the proper size.

I thought that I had it figured out, but maybe not.  I have two questions (for now?):
1) Regarding the extrusion that creates the wine rack, did you lock those edges to reference planes?
2) How do you create the void so that it only hides the wine rack, and not the cabinet itself?

No.  The wine rack is fixed center to center with the box.  Only the front and back are constrained to flex with the depth of the cabinet.

2) How do you create the void so that it only hides the wine rack, and not the cabinet itself?

After create the void, it will cut all solid by default.  Just use Uncut tool to uncut elements that don't need to be cut. 

Another way is create the wine rack and the donut void as a separate family, nest in the cabinet and associate the parameter so that the size of the donut flex based on the size of the cabinet.

I was thinking about using a parametric array for the wine rack but they will not join cleanly as a monolithic extrusion.

I understand what you did to manipulate the void to hide parts of the wine rack and flex with the cabinet frame.  However, I screwed something up (or missed a step) in my wine rack extrusion, and now my cabinet is not flexing properly.

Please see attached.  What did I miss or forget to do?  Thank you for your help.
