Non-core layers still display if below the cut plane

We are creating a Slab Edge Plan and are using various View Templates and Filters to show the concrete slabs along with all concrete and masonry walls. In the VG settings, we have unchecked the Non-core layers setting in Walls. This works, except for a few low walls with brick veneer acting as a wainscot with a rowlock. This low wall is only 2 feet above the Level, so it is below the cut plane of the plan view. It is still showing the airspace and veneer, despite the non-core box setting being unchecked. Moving the cut plane higher or lower is problematic since we are also dimensioning wall openings such as doors and windows. Plan regions somewhat work, but this is labor intensive due to the amount of PRs that would be needed. Why can't I just turn off all non-core layers? Is this a bug? It must be, because if I extend the same wall above the cut plane, it behaves as expected. This is in Revit 2024.

I am having the same issue. I am in 2025 and I just checked 2026 and it still functions the same way.

I understand 2026 (with the latest update) allows you to make composite walls without needing Core layers. This will simplify filtering out walls without core layers, even if Revit doesn't hide them if they are not being cut by the view plane. It will really come into play when modeling core walls and finish walls because you couldn't create finish walls without core layers.
