No Backup Option

I am trying to save Revit project files without having to create backups. For example, I use sample files to store persistently used items such as fences as seen in the image below. However, if I want to update or make changes to this project file I am forced to make backups. This is no good for the organization of these files. I need clean organization. Also, the same goes for family files such as windows. If I create a new window family based on a stock Revit family it automatically forces backup files. 

Another example is a stairs file which has many different sample stairs that can be used in projects. I want to have this stair sample file without the necessity of having backups.

This is a major organizational issue when I want to put many different families in a single folder.

However, I am not in a "network location". 

This is a local disk location.

The backup organizer would take care of this issue, however, I cannot get it to run on Revit 2021. 

I have ran the downloaded utility, restarted, and there are no backup folders being created.

Backup is just a way incase the current file you saved is corrupt. I do run into this issue from time to time. So having backup means you have a way to recover your older file incase your user accidentally did something to make the file unworkable (IE: delete family or ruin the railing file). If you don't want backup, then I would save the file as read only so no one will be able to override it.

This is no good. I need to create libraries of families and sample project files without the cluster of backup files. There has to be a workaround. The stock revit files don't have backups. The stock revit familes do not require backups.

If the file is read only, you can't save it and create a backup. In other words, if Read-Only is checked you cannot save it period. So, obviously, there wouldn't be a backup copy created.

I would like to save the files and also be able to update them.

I would like to be able to have my own folders that are like this. You can see that if each rvt file has a duplicate the organization would not be ideal. 

The backup file organizer add-in seems to be the answer, however, it does not appear to work for revit 2021.

Doesn't everyone have their own custom set of Revit families they use for their projects? 

I've been building mine for a few years. The double rvt file really throws a kink in this workflow.
