New Type - Options

Can someone explain to me why I can't create new types - ei wall types, window types etc...- in an option? I always have to switch back to the main option.

What's your workflow? Are you selecting DO option and clicking Edit Selected first?

In DO I select, family but cannot duplicate type in edit type menu. 

I need to be in main model to duplicate type family.

Create similar not relevant in this situation - but it is a new command!

I just tested and I can duplicate a window and place instances of that duplicate while in DO editing mode.  Is this what you cannot do? What version?

Can't explain.  I just switch to Main Model if I need to create new types and switch back to Edit Option.  A couple of click ,not a big deal for me.

Would simply be annoying, but causes other problems as well.

I must be missing something. I can create new Wall types while editing a Design Option via the Edit Type dialog or just browsing to the Walls category in the Project Browser. I thought maybe it was something unique to 2019 but I can do it in 2018 too.

Maybe it has been fixed in 2018. I can't do it in 2016.

In 2018.2: I cannot Duplicate Wall types within DO editing mode. But, I have NO issues Duplicating Window Types.

Aah, that's what it was. Editing one option but altering a type that is part of yet another.
