New Revit Realistic Windows Showing Only Gray

Hello,

I have had this problem for a while now and I actually refused to upgrade from Revit 2018 until now.  With the new opening transparency check boxes within the door and window families I have been having this issue.  I like to show my elevations in realistic view, and I like my glass to look solid.  When I do this, the only color that shows is this gray and I can't seem to find where to change it.  It's like there is a default material somewhere.  I have check object styles, view overrides, etc.  Even when I change the glass material type nothing happens. Even if I change it to an obnoxious color. Any ideas?

Does the family have any masking region on the elevation view?

1. Is the transparency settings good in the opening
2. Is there unnecessary annotation in the family
3. Is the material properties parameters of the window set up correctly
4. Is the glass material good (example: is the use render appearance checked)?

Did you find answer to this? I'm stuggling to figure what is causing this. I've elminated everything suggestion noted above with no success.

Hello,
It's been a struggle! I have also tried all of the suggestions. I did notice under the object styles in my template the windows were being overridden with the default wall material. I have also noticed that the sun location has a big affect on how the windows appear. It's something I have to work around almost every time I start working on elevations. I haven't worked on elevations for a while, let me regroup and get a better answer for you. Do you have any images or snips you could send that would help me see your issue?

I have also noticed that a few multi-slide door families I have from Marvin or Milgard were not set up correctly which is frustrating. Instead of using the opening tool where the transparency can be changed in the family, they set it up as a void so the doors always appear transparent...

I recently had the same issue.  I noticed it works fine on doors using the same material.  I also noticed the shadow lines for the mullions looked to be "behind" where the glass should be.  Turns out, the window family had the glass unchecked for Front / Back in the visibility settings.  So, in elevation, the glass was turned off.  Open the family, select the glass extrusion, then check the visibility settings and make sure it's set correctly.
