Nested links dissapear when reloading host link.

I have a nested link in a link in my model, and when I reload the host link in the model, the nested link disappears. The nested link reappear when you close and re-open the model. How can I fix this so that I don't have to close the project each time I reload links.

Adding to the first comment, the nested link is set to "by linked view" in vg which the links are visible in the view where the link lives. Also after further review I recognized that the links that do not contain nested links, also disappear after reloading the link.
