Nested Family Aligning

I have created a window sash (frame and glass) family and would like to bring (nest) that into another family to replace the old frame. I have set the sash family width and height parameters to be ‘instance’, but I am not able to align the sash to the reference lines in the parent family. Any clues on how I can get the nested family’s width and height parameters to flex with the parent width and height parameters?

I found the answer: use the Associate Family Parameter window when you click the box in the family dimensions under Properties.
