Nested Attached Linked models

Is there a workaround to allow for nested attached links to show in a model?

I have a site model with two building types, Type A and Type B.  I have the two building models (A and B) with a combination of 4 units types (Unit 1-4).  Unit types are attached to building models.  When loading the building models into the site model, only 1 set of Unit Types are loaded (Building A in this instance).  The Building B units are not loaded because Revit is seeing the units are already loaded (in Building A).

My intent is to use the linked units to calculate unit and parking requirement counts in the site model with a schedule.

Why not direct link both A and B into Site?

The building models are linked to the site.  I have multiple copies of the linked building models on the site, as well.

Then I'm not understanding. When you say "Attached" Links, I'm thinking Links nested into Links, and "Attachment" vs. "Overlay".

Diagram below.  Units models are attached, not overlay, to building models which are linked (attached) into the site model.

But, because Revit is seeing the 'attached' Unit links come in with Building A, it is not loading the link in Building B because it is already in the model as a link in Building A.

Correct.  I need the linked unit count to be accurate in the site model to schedule the units.

I have no such problem if the units are attached to the buildings, and the buildings are linked to the site (attached or overlay doesn't matter here).

In a quick mockup what you describe did not happen to me (using 2018 ATM) either.

Well, I removed and re-added the building models and it all cleared up.  All is acting as expected.  Not sure what happened. 🤔

I suspect that this original issue may be related to the fact that you are using worksets and that you are trying to insert them using the same open session of Revit that had your original units type models open in. Thus, you need to release the models and all the worksets prior to inserting. When you attempted it the second time it was probably a "clean" session. Just a hunch - not a proven response.   I have a different issue but somewhat related. I have a base model (in your example above the unit model 1), it has multiple worksets for various options. This is then loaded into your Block A and workset options are turned off as appropriate. In Block B it is also loaded but with a different set of workset options turned off. When I load it into my equivalent file to your "site" file above it scrambles them all up and turns on random crap! Any ideas would be appreciated.
