Multiple Value Conditional Formatting

Does anyone have a workaround or know if multiple value (<varies> or custom text) can have conditional formatting?

We have several schedules that are designed to show <varies> if the scheduled material has different values or conflicting data. I need to show the custom text or <varies> as red text to alert the user that there is a problem somewhere and it needs to be fixed.

Just coloring the text is not possible. You can only shade the cell red like you have done in the screenshot.

Yes I’m aware. My fault for saying text and not cell. However that’s not the problem. I had to fake that screenshot to show what I’m trying to achieve.

whenever you have itemize every instance turned off and the multiple value custom text appears, the conditional formatting will not work.

@Will_Sevedge  oh sorry. I understood your question now. As far as I know there is no way to highlight that. Maybe you could add it to the ideas here:
