Multiple topo surfaces in Revit model

I've modeled four different topo surfaces in my Revit site model. When trying to model a building pad on a particular surface, I haven't found a way to identify which surface it is modeling on. With all surfaces hidden except the one I want, the pad defaults to a different surface than the one I want. Is there a way to identity or select which surface the pad should be recognizing during the modeling.

I think if a building pad is drawn over multiple topo objects, it will associate with the one created the latest.

To make sure your building pad always cut the correct topo, draw it completely within the extent of said topo and completely outside of the other ones.  When done, you can adjust the boundary of the building pad to the proper dimensions and it still sticks to the correct topo even if it sits above others.

Your solution worked. I have four different topo surfaces for different site conditions. I actually took another approach and copied the one I want to change and pasted to the same location, re-named it and deleted the original one. The prior pads all copied fine. This is not the last created topo and the new pads I want to add being added to the surface I want. Your help is greatly appreciated.

As a follow-up to the previous reply, I am still having trouble working with multiple topo's and being able to select the one that you want to create a building pad on. Copying and pasting a pad establishing it as the last one created but this is not the best way to work when needing to add pads to a surface that was created before the last one. There must be some way to select the topo  you want to add a pad to and have the pad be associated with that particular surface.

Have you tried what I had suggested, draw a small pad completely within the designated topo, then edit its boundary afterward?
