Multiple link instances

Hello all,

Recently, I have had multiple projects all of a sudden have multiple instances of consultant links (link landscape site, mechanical, etc.). These instances are randomly rotated and at slightly different positioning and elevation. Everyone working on the project has no idea how it has happened, and neither do I. Does anyone know of a reason how these duplicate instances are being created? I thought someone was rotating a link to line it up and didn't notice that the copy" option was selected, but upon investigation, that has not been the case. If it was one project, I would chalk it up to someone messing something up, but it's now on the third project in less than a month and I feel like something is going on.

Also, on one of the projects, the duplicate instances were deleted, and then upon reloading the project, three other links are now saying that they do not have any instances placed. Do we think that someone might be accidentally changing the link instances from one link to another? Why would they even do that?

I'm just going crazy on why this could be happening! Any and all ideas are welcome. Thanks!

One possible culprit; using Transfer Project Standards (TPS) and selecting View Templates can create instances of RVT links that the view template(s) control, in the receiving model of TPS. These instances are not placed in my experience so if you find a rogue listed in the Project Browser or in Manage Links you should find if you try to reload the link it will tell you there aren't any placed.

Someone copied and rotate something and accidentally included the links.  Disable Link Selection to prevent this to happen again.
