Multiple Levels for Building Grading OR Separate Linked Models:

Hi All,

We are approximately at 30% DDs right now and are starting to get some grading numbers from Civil.

We are planning to step the building down to follow the grade (screenshot attached).  

My question: 

One model (as is currently) with multiple levels to follow grading down; or, split the model up and link in separate models at each level instance? 

That is to say, one level or one linked model at +2, +1, 0 (central model most likely), -2, -1.

Any thoughts, ideas, or experience are greatly appreciated!

If it is one building then one model.  You can add prefix/suffix to organize the levels, use scope box to scope the levels, and filters to hide irrelevant levels in views.

Are you just deepening the structural foundation, or are the Floor Levels actually changing at the building pads?  I mean, I don't see any apparent transitions --  much less enough room to make the transitions  -- on the overall Floor Plan.

The levels are changing at the building pads.

This was first discussed just last Friday, so as you noticed, we have a lot of work to do.

That was my initial thought.  Splitting the model up was brought up at a team meeting, so I thought I would ask around.  I will mark as an accepted solution.

Splitting one building into separate models may give rise to issues in matching and coordination - this is one instance where Divide and Rule does not apply.
