Multiple join button toggles

Sometimes when joining geometry the 'Multiple Join' button toggles automatically when holding ctrl. It doesn't switch off when releasing ctrl as it should do. Is this a bug?

It could be. To be sure, check if there's a keyboard shortcut listed in the options.

I don't think there is a keyboard shortcut option to toggle 'multiple join'.

@dhoogland1  Join Multiple is activated when you press & hold CTRL on the keyboard

  1. Assign a shotcut for Join Geometry; example: Shift+J
  2. Once Join Geometry is activated in the model press CTRL to Join Multiple

edit: sorry @vitorbortoncello I meant to reply to the OP

My problem is that holding ctrl shouldn't toggle the button but highlight it while holding ctrl. Sometimes when joining elements while holding ctrl the button stays on after releasing ctrl.

If you wish to keep it on permanently, you only need to press it once, and Revit will remember your selection the next time you start Join Geometry. You do not need a key shortcut for that). Otherwise "Join Multiple" is by design ON/Highlighted while Press/Hold CTRL key and it is OFF when CTRL is released...you can also remap that to a mouse button and set its macro to press rather than hold

If you see that the above does not suit your needs, you can submit an Idea in the Revit Ideas forum and describe the functionality you wish to have; then hope it is popular enough for the Dev team to add it

I understand the functionality of the button and that it is supposed to be able to toggle. My problem is that while joining elements using ctrl the button stays on after I release ctrl. As I understand it the button should not stay on after releasing ctrl, but only while holding ctrl actively.
