mullion join at angled mullion 2017

i have a storefront/ curtain wall and in elevation i have the perimeter mullion at an angle. i have a horizontal mullion coming into the angled mullion. i cannot get them to join cleanly. i am attaching a screen shot of what i am talking about.

unpin them and toggle mullion join.

it appears that they are already unpinned. the unpin button is grayed out. so I try to toggle the join option and nothing.

hmm? try deleting that short, overlapping mullion and toggle the others.

There's a curtain grid where the short piece ends, maybe you need to delete an additional gridline segment?

Probalby Revit won't make a clean join, 'cause the segment is too short.
