Hello,
I'm working on a project where a building, located in its own revit file, is being linked to a siteplan with other linked project files; this specific building is currently missing the correct project elevation by about six inches (i.e. current elev is 200'-0" abv sea level and needs to be changed to 200'-6"). The project is fairly close to final submittal and, due to a fear of things breaking, we are considering manually changing the elevations with text boxes to avoid that. we unfortunately don't have a ton of extra time to run through and fix things.

as an exercise, I am wondering ways in which changing the project height could cause problems. I am under the assumption that changing the base point would physically reposition the building in the site model file? Does this have the potential to ruin any annotation in the original revit file? Am I overthinking this whole issue?

Project Base Point has nothing to do with Links and Shared Coordinates.  Now, as for what elevations are being reported in Spot Elevations, Levels and whatnot, those are based on what the markers' "Elevation Base" is set to (e.g. Survey Point or Project Base Point).
