model in place components move in wrong direction when rotated

I have noticed a thing where if I have a model in place component that I have rotated and I try to move or copy it with another object selected (or as part of a group) the component moves in it's cardinal direction, not the direction I'm trying to move it in. This only seems to happen when using the move/copy tool. Nudging with the arrow keys moves it properly. I am using Revit 2023, but I have replicated the same issue in Revit 2022 as well.

Any idea how I can fix this?

See video for example.

Edit the in place model and rotate it, then finish and move.  And FWIT, copying in place models is a bad idea. Every copy is a new in place model, independent from the original.

What do you suggest ?

I have a few of those, and I have kept them simple, just in case. Rotate and mirror is a no no, but thanks to OP, now I know how to move it with arrow keys.

I thought each copy being unique was kinda the whole point of model in place components. I've been using them as placeholders while I design and make changes to the layout. Essentially I just needed a quick and easily adjustable rectangle that is of the category casework. Once the design is locked down I go back and replace them with the final design for each item.

A colleague suggested I just make a custom family of an adjustable rectangle, and that is working well for my purposes.
