Missing Rooms

I have an issue that I have only just started to encounter with my model.

Quick overview, the model is a two and four story building which contains multiple linked files in it.  Many of these are units for a hotel, so these are placed on three of the four floors.  Every room in the building has been assigned a phase, floor, building (for scheduling), and we are just beginning to input room finish information.

Now for the issue, up until a week ago, everything was working fine and then nearly half of my rooms disappeared.  At first I thought a couple rooms were accidentally deleted, but when I checked the schedule, they weren't listed even under the "not placed" header...that's when I noticed that more than half my rooms had disappeared.  I replaced the rooms from a previous save and went on to think that it was a one time thing.  Well, here we are a week later, and it had just happened for a fourth time.

As I mentioned, I have never encountered this before...even with many linked files.  I don't have the deepest of Revit knowledge, so I did what I could think of.  I audited the file...I purged the file as much as I could...I even had all team members delete their local files and recreate them (thinking it could be a corrupt local).  We went a day of no issues until this morning.

Has anyone else run into this issue?  I'm still wondering A) How rooms could disappear; and B) How one room could disappear while the one directly adjacent remains.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.  Thank you.

Never lost a room except by accidentally deleting.Could not be a phasing issue?

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

This is a new building and all rooms are on New Construction and I have put them on their own workset (as a way of finding a solution).  I do have a number of pinned items so walls and dimensions don't get moved...not sure that has an effect, just adding more info to rule out.

Perhaps look into the journal file and see if any suspected activities going on.

We are having this exact same issue with one of our models.  I have to imagine it's tied to a phasing / workset combination, because we have NEVER encountered it before.  We also have never set up a project like this before.  I noticed there was no clear answer in the message board, so I'd like to open this ticket back up for discussion.

Half of our rooms seem to disappear randomly with random users and at random synchronization times.  I realize nothing is truly random, but we cannot find any correlation between the rooms in questions.  They all have varying parameter values for phasing, worksets, levels, etc.

Please HELP!!

confirm all users are actually using the same Revit build of your version.

I have experienced some anomalies in the past when other team members were not up to date with the same version build number

on the help pull down select About Autodesk Revit

the window will display which build number you are using.

confirm all linked models are using the same build number

are the rooms removed from any schedules, etc?  maybe take a section through the room and see if the boundaries have changed (limit offset, base offset, etc.)?  also maybe under VGO, click on color fill, interior fill, reference under Rooms.

The room boundary may be out of your view range... cut a section and see.

Are the rooms still in a room schedule?

You have multiple linked files...

All the rooms are placed in the same file?

The boundary elements for the rooms are issue from different linked files?

The only way to delete a room from a file is from a schedule...

First I'll be looking at the schedules, if the rooms are not even showing as "not placed" I'd start to check your team.

If the boundary elements of a room are issue from a linked files, when the file isn't loaded you'll be seeing warning messages due to the rooms placement. Maybe someone on your team is deleting them by accepting a warning message without reading it... It seems more like an human error that a Revit bug and in my experience people will always say they've done nothing wrong if you ask them.

So the only way to know when the rooms where deleted is as @ToanDN explains in his post.
