Missing Reference Points when making Splines in Conceptual Mass in Revit 2018.2

Hi Revit Architecture Forum

I just installed the Revit 2018.2 - STUDENT VERSION

and I can't see any Reference Points in my splines.

I worked with splines in the conceptual mass family file.

Anyone knows or seen this problem?

This happends only on the student version. Not in standard version...

Just a guess here, could it be one was drawn using the "spline" tool and the other was drawn using the "spline through points" tool?

These 2 tools will give results like you are showing.  I think casting the blame to the "student version" is a red herring. I can assure you they are the same "software wise". We are doing nothing special like this to cause a difference like this in the student version.

If it is not the kind of spline drawn, maybe it is the VG of the view.  Reference points category turned off?

IDK????  I am out of ideas.  Maybe try resetting the color of you background and any other selection highlight color you might have changed back to defaults?  I am out of ideas.

Earlier in the thread folks said the files you attached have the reference points showing, so i am not sure.

Sorry nothing helped by changing into default background colours....As I tried to explain the missing points are only on my STUDENT VERSION Revit 2018 program runned on a windows 7 DELL pc and not on the PRO VERSION at all. Explaining why others don't have this problem on their Installations.

Viveka a Technical Support Specialist is now looking on my Revit Journals to find a solution on this annoying problem.

Hi @winther_nielsen

The journals look normal, all updates installed.

As @loboarch mentioned and confirmed by @huotger, Technically the student version and full version are the same installs, so this functionality should work on both installs, i.e, there is only a single set of install files for each product regardless of the type of licensing used, Trial vs Commercial vs. Student.  There are not any intended differences within the last several yearly releases.

Thank you @loboarch and @huotger

Typically student licensing is for a 3-year term @natasha.l will be able to confirm and answer questions regarding student licensing.

Regards,

Ok thanks for looking into my issue with the missing reference points.

Now I been looking east and west for a clear answer on that.

My conclusion on this is that it could be my pc video card or other hardware issues that is not dealing with creating points on polylines.

Can you recommend any pc hardware to buy for working with Revit, 3ds Max and Auto Cad 2018 ?

I am very glad that Autodesk offers the 3-years student licence.Wooden Houses.jpg
