Mirroring the Text in Section Head

Hello everyone

I was wondering if there is any way to mirror the text inside the section head when i flip the direction?

As you can see in the below images the section head is flipped but the text remains oriented to one direction only.

Thank you

Why would you need to have the text mirrored?

I assume this is what you are looking for

The trick to copy the section head family and rotate the text as shown in the screenshot below

syman2000_1-1692717002099.png

Set the new section type using the rotate text section head.

As a result you should be able to get the section rotate the way you wanted.

I meant mirroring it the following way:

The direction of the detail number shout be oriented towards the arrow

Thanks ! It worked. I was just wondering if there is any settings in revit to do that instead of rotating the text?

Do you also want the label to be up side down when the section is looking down the page?

Do you like them that way or is there a convention that you need to follow?

It's a requirement of the office. Mostly they use AutoCAD so they end up rotating the text.

Sadly Revit don't have much option.  Even if you check off keep readable, it won't do much. Even rotating the text will not show as rotated in the project.

So if you want the upside down text, the only option is to download upside text and replace the current text. You can download San Serif upside down text from the link below

Well then I have nothing to offer but I sincerely hope your office covers the employees' neck injury insurance.

That's a really weird one to cling to. Just tell them it can't be done.

I hope they do 😂. I know it's a weird requirement, anyways thanks, but there seems to be another issue. The method suggested by @syman2000 works, but depending on the direction the section line is drawn the text gets flipped. See the attached image. Dot indicates the start point and arrow is the direction the line was drawn. Any solutions?

Depends on how you rotate the text.

Alright. So I need to maintain any one direction and use the flip arrow I guess, cos if I rotate the text the other way then the text is oriented correctly in the first section line but it affects the text in the second section line and vice versa.

Is it possible to mirror text to show correctly for basketball floor striping?

I'm guessing you want to rotate it, not mirror it. Select the text, and uncheck "Keep Readable" in the properties. Then you can rotate it however you like.
