Min Max Parameters in Family

I am trying to create a flexible ADA locker room bench. I am new to min/max parameters...I was hoping that the family would break, or not allow, another that isn't ADA (my min and max in the family parameters). Attached is the family, what have I missed? Thanks!

Shouldn't the the dimensions controlled by the Control parameters instead of the entered values?

Remember the user won't see the actual formulas that drive the parameters they will just be putting in numbers and the magic happens behind the scenes as it where.

what we tend to do is to put the parameters we expect users to need to change in the Constraints Category and those that they don't need to use leave them in Dimensions (or in other cases move them right down to Other).  I've said before, and will say again, I think it would be very helpful to have a simple and advanced layout when it comes to creating new family types.

This is the one area that Revit Family parameters lacking behind AutoCAD Dynamic Block parameters, where you are able to control the min max, increment, or a predefined list of values right off the bat.

...so I understand the dialogue y'all are having, but am not sure where/how I am to proceed. It sounds like I am trying to control the wrong things, and therefore nothing is constrained?
