Microsoft Surface Book Revit 2014, 2015 & 2016 problems

Is anyone using the new Microsoft Surface Book with I7 processor and 16 GB RAM? I was able to install three versions of Revit (2014, 2015 & 2016).

The problem is that all versions of Revit flicker and hangup while trying to use it. It seems like a graphics driver issue with just Revit.

AutoCAD 2016 works fine.

Revit 2016 seems to be working fine for me. I turned the screen resolution down to 1680x1050, and set the scaling to 100%.

This fixed worked for me.  I had to do both, but I am getting away with the 150% scaling without crashing.  I hope there is an actual full fix in the future.  I thought the surface book specs were made for CAD.

Specs: Surface book i7 8g 256

I concur. Once the display scaling is set to 150% the issue seemed to resolve. My Surface doesn't have a 'log off' (meaning I haven't found it yet) so I just shut it down & restarted. My eyes don't care for the smaller text & button sizes but that's ok (showing my age ) 🙂

Looks lik ethe latest update to the video driver now allows you to run revit in the full resolution of the Surface Book with 200% scaling.  No joy if you you are using multiple monitors that dont have a high enough resolution.  You will have dumb down the resolution to suit those monitors.

The 4-20 mega update did not fix my issues.  I still have to run reduced relsoution and scaling.

The latest updates + the intel driver updates did the trick and fixed the flicker on my surface so now I can use it at a higher scaling. Getting better!

Awesome...I might go by another one..I loved my surface pro 4, but as much money as I paid I wasn't willing to be a beta tester for Microsoft and Autodesk.

I'm sure you know by now but the logoff is located under start, at the top where your username is, and then signoff

The solution setting the scaling to 150% worked for me also.

Hi I've just installed revit 2017 and it works much better, no scaling necessary or messing with resolution.

I do have a problem with the  Nvidia GPU, since I can't turn on hardware acceleration with the Nvidia chip. I tried disabling this GPU it and found out that Autodesk lets me use hardware acceleration with Intel HD520 GPU and it works faster than Nvidias "+-GT940M" in software emulation mode.

Dynamo also shows 3D preview.

So now I disable Nvidia's GPU before opening Autocad 2016 or Revit2017 to get better performance.

Anyone has had a similar experience?

thx,

I just got the I7 16 meg a few days ago. Loaded revit 2017 today and played around a bit with it but didn't do any serious work yet. So far... everything works fine.

Upgraded from the first surface pro. Seems fine and a few test renderings were absolutely quicker.

I also was a bit impatient and did not read the fine print. Thanks to all who helped post about this topic. The change to 150 percent fixed everything right up!

I bought a Surface Book this past month. It has a new integrated graphics processor that appears to be incompatible with REVIT 2016.

Revit will not open fully.I have tried adjusting the scaling and the resolution, but no success.

Attached are my System Specifications. Does anyone know if there is a fix.

The Surface PRO will work with Revit but the Surface BOOK is the problem.

I have had a surface book for the past year and a half, successfully running Revit, CADDuct and Navisworks.

I Recently upgrades to the surface book with performance base and it works even better.

Very large files can be problematic but that is it
