message on attempting to save project as

When i try to 'save the project file as' it runs the save sequence then comes up with a message:

"square foot someting or other" then won't actually save the file. Could this be from low disk space?

Can you attach a printscreen showing the error?

Well 🙂 your problem seems to be solved then

For your future info:

"Square Feet per Foot" error message is another sister of mischievous  "Square Meters Per Meter"

It usually occure either when you are out of space in the temp file OR when you are trying to save your Revit file (mostly on a server location). It has to do with the number of characters in your save path and subsequently WINDOWS prevent Revit from saving your file. This is when Windows will produce an error code and Revit sees this code and tries to looks it up...HOWEVER; in Revit the actual code does not match with those of Windows; instead it corresponds to what you see "Square X per X" (Please don't ask why!!! There is no logic in it.)

Solution:

- Clear out your Temp files folder

- Try to reduce the path name 99.9% of the times it will help (example: if it is on a server; try to map the folder where it is...that would shorten the path; Otherwise, if you are saving under a long tree of drives, folders and subfolders, you might want to reconsider reorganizing your folder structure)

ACCEPT as solution. Trouble was a completely full hard drive, no room for the required caching. All is well now. Thanks!

I'm finding the reply process somewhat impenetrable. I would have loved to used the actual 'accept' button, but it isn't available where I expect it. Like in this reply area. Sorry
