Merge all links and everything into a single file?

Hello, I have done a project using Revit 2016 and it's god multiple files.

I have linked all the revit files into a single main file.

Now, I want to deliver this file to the client, will it be possible to merge all these links into a single file?

Otherwise I will have to tell the client to manually change all the links and link all the files one by one, which is not possible since it's multiple files.

Hi @Anonymous,

when you select a linked model within the mail file you can click BIND in the top ribbon and there you go.

I would keep all the components as individual links. When you need to share your models with your clients, simply upload all the files. No need to alter the relationship between the links just because you need to send your files to the client.

It's no good, in my opinion, to group links, or to bind links. Maintain each link in its own workset, and do to the same, consistently, in all the models.

If you provide all the files, the client will simply download all files to the same folder, open one of them, and that should bring all the links without any problem.

I second the idea of keeping them as separate files.  You can use eTransmit for Revit to make sure all external links are included.

Hi there,

You can bind all linked models in to host model.

Use the Bind Link tool to select the elements and datum from a linked model to convert to a group.

  1. In the drawing area, select the linked model.
  2. Click Modify | RVT Links tabLink panel (Bind Link).
