Material Tag only populates with a leader line

Hi all,

I am trying to tag my materials, but the tag only populates when there is a leader line attached.

They are both referencing the same model face but tag only works when the leader line is turned on (attached is screenshot)

We have just recently just changed to Revit 2022, so has something changed since 2020?

Thanks

can you upload the model (or a portion of it) for us to look at?

@katiedickinsonn

I doubt that was planned but that is how it is in 2022.01 ... If you want the Material tag without leader, you will have to place them >> select all in view >> give them a nudge

Create a copy of the Material Tag.. and in the Edit Type, get rid of the leader.

@RDAOU @Corsten.Au thank you for these, both of these methods worked. 😊

But, I just don't understand why we cant just place them without the leader line, with work around?

I guess we need to classify this simply as a bug 😉

Doesn't seem to make any sense whatsoever. I hope this gets rectified soon, because the thread is already more then a year old. Does anyone know if the issue persists in Revit 2023?

Kind regards

So annoying. Please fix Autodesk. I feel like Autodesk takes 2 steps forward, but then 10 steps back when doing updates. There should be no reason a Material Tag, that's been working for YEEEEEEARS, to just stop working in Revit 2021 and no solutions for Revit 2022 or 23. COME ON!
