Material skewed/distorted when applied to imported object

I have tried different file types including dwg, dxf, sat. I tried different meshes with different densities. I cannot seem to get the material to map onto the surface properly, as can be done with a Revit object. (see wall on the left)

These shapes were extruded but I have tried solids too and I have the same issue.

Please let me know if there is a way to fix it.

Many thanks!

did you try going into the Material Dialog Box, your material, texture mapping...adjust accordingly.

Did you ever find the solution to this problem? I'm having the same issue with my objects imported from SketchUp
