Match Instance Properties

Hi everyone

Just wondering if there is such thing as MATCH “INSTANCE” PROPERTIES?

I wanted to apply same identity data properties into a door (curtain wall) that I created, so I don’t need to retype all the information.

I hope there is such command, if not, I hope autodesk will develop.

Thank you very much!

Justin

No. there is not. The logic (I assume) behind is that the value is applicable to that particular instance. Also you have already an easy alternative. Select the objects that share the same instance parameter and type in the new desired value. All selected families will now have that new set value.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

An option to match instance properties might be helpful though... perhaps a tick box?  I know there are time I would have welcomed it...

Thank you @L.Maas  for your advice to @justin_cruz  which I have followed. Here I have a question; if all type properties of a door, for example, are the same but every copy of that door has its unique instance parameters, can I calculate the quantity of the group of doors only that have shared instance properties even though they are under the same type? or the door quantity calculation will give the total of all doors that are under the same type regardless whether they have different instance properties?

Thank you

In the door schedule you can set a filter using the instance property of the door, which can then be totalled.

FYI, there is an idea for adding this feature

I just recently learned about the match properties and ASSUMED it is to match instance properties. but it isn't.  Just matching type properties seems less useful since I could just change the type of a family in the project.
