I'm working on a pattern-based structure. My model consists of two masses (one for he "wall" vertical portion of the structure and the other one for the funky, irregular "roof"/slanted portion). I'm applying patterns to my mass elements in order to simulate steel framing that's meant to be a sort of shade. I'm experiencing a lot of trouble with making the patterns on both parts match perfectly. I guess it' due to the fact that one of the surfaces is not flat, but I believe there must be some kind of solution!
I would like the pattern on the upper surface to look just like the one on the lower one and by that I mean having the exact same spacing in elevation view on each row and the irregularities to be just cut off (exactly like it happens with a fixed distance grid setting on the wall portion). However, despite using same exact properties i just won't work and the grid is getting deformed in elevation view no matter what I do.
You can see what I'm talking about by looking at attached picture (pattern on the left and how the surface I'm working on looks like on the right).
I tried using align option but it makes it look even worse (picture 2).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm also attaching my file. Thank you.
