Massing and adaptive panels - Cannot delete old panel type

I have a building with a mass that is divided into adaptive panels.

I am in the process of cleaning the panels with a new generation of panels. and having difficulty purging the model of the old types.

For example I have one panel with tow types. One type is used 264 times, the other zero times. If I try to delete the type that is not used, I get an error message that I should 'select all' of that type and change it. If I do that there are zero instances. The error message makes no sense.

If I ignore the error message, most of my panels explode and disappear. Has anyone ever seen that kind of error?

Is it possible right click on Standard panel to select all elements of standard panel change to new ones and delete the standard one?

No, as mentioned above, there are zero instances of standards, so there is nothing to change. However, because of a bug (?) Revit tells me that the are 18 instances when I try to delete, which is not true.

Also, because of the limitations of Revit massing, you cannot do any batch operation with panels, like select all, when you are inside the massing editing it.

Edit the Mass and delete the Panel in Edit Mode.

It does not exist in the massing or anywhere else 😕 This is clearly a bug, wondering if anyone has seen it before.

Where does it say there are zero instances of that type?

Right click + select all on the panel Type.

Also forgot to note that the exact same problem is seen in other panel types and in another model we have in the same project (different building).

It seems like the massing itself has developed a dependency to the panel type if you read the error message carefully. The massing is called 'B100'

Select all of the type tells me there are zero instances. The error messages says there are 18 instances and when I delete that type it deletes hundreds of unrelated panels. Something ain't right!

Sounds like you have Shared Nested components between them.

Hi @barthbradley, I don`t these were made only of massing pieces.

The following generation of panels were made uniquely of embedded shard families. but it did not have that effect, nor should it. I am amble to delete a panel that is compromised of shared embedded components without problems.

Would it be possible for you to post the file or a portion of the file? This is very much indicative of a family being nested, but as you had mentioned there is no nesting in this instance.

It appears that there was an issue regenerating the model after removing the panel from the mass. I was able to bypass this by zooming out on the model, turning off massing in the visibility graphics, and removing the family types.

It looks like you had built these by placing them within a mass, is this correct?
