Manage Floorplan Types

Is there a way to manage the floorplan types similar to how the view templates can be managed & altered? I know you can get to it through editing the type of an open floorplan. Just wondering if this was a thing in Revit 2021+.

i.e.:

What specifically would you "manage"?

Basically the floorplan types.

I regularly update a project template for different for changes/improvements but in order to get to the floorplan types I have to create a level, create a floorplan from that level, make the changes then go back and delete the level. With the view templates I can just go into the manage view templates.

I don't get what you would "manage" after the fact.

In our case it's the view templates applied to the type. I was just wondering if there was an easy button to get to the type without having to create levels & floorplans. I'm guessing the short answer is no.

Are you saying that you are creating a new View Type whenever you want to change the View Properties, such as the View Template being used by the View?  If so, why? That's not necessary.  You can easily create and apply different View Template to newly created or existing Views.  I mean, that's all that is really "manageable" in the Floor Plan Type Template - the operative word being "template".  It's just a starting point for newly created Floor Plans.

Are you maybe doing this for Browser Organization?

Yes. It's set in a way so that certain floorplan types populate in certain spots in the project browser based on the view template assigned to the floorplan type. But this and more is inside of a project template (.rte) that doesn't have any existing levels, it's just a clean slate view wise for new levels to be referenced from the arch/structural models. So, I was trying to find a shortcut to just get directly to the types without creating/deleting levels in my project template (.rte). Have you seen this done in better ways? Below is an example of a live project.

Why don't you sort and group Browser Organization by View Template then?

Editing for timeline, Sorry I posted this before seeing your full explanation about not having any views to start with...

No button to take you straight there like the view templates.
But you can work through the Project Browser and Properties:
Select any floorplan view in the Project Browser...
With a floor plan selected go to the Properties palette and select "Edit Type"...
Select Duplicate (if needing to create a new type) or select the type that you want to modify...
Use the Type Properties dialog to setup whatever you are wanting to setup...
Hit "Apply"...
Repeat as many times as desired for as many types desired...
Reset the floor plan type to the original type...

@barthbradley  The tricky part doing that is the views are created independently instead of dependent on the view template so it'll carry over all of the filters and everything. We do this because the requirements for the views can vary greatly per project and/or system type. I.e. you could have multiple types of a domestic services but they would fall under the base view type/filter requirements of the domestic water template.

@GaryOrrMBI Thanks. But the process you just stated requires the creation of levels which goes back to my original question lol.

Sorry for throwing you guys down a rabbit hole. I'll just mark this off as not being possible unless a level exists in the project.
