Making pattern panels different materials

Hi, I am using revit 2019 for windows and have run into a problem with using the pattern panel method for making a wall with a mass. I have made a hexagonal grid with width to it and put it as a pattern on a divided surface. Once I make the pattern, if I exit the edit mode and turn off show mass, it will show each panel as an individual component you can remove, but it doesn't let you change the type of material it is. I can go in the materials panel and change it but the changes wont show. Is there any way I can achieve this?Screenshot_1.jpgScreenshot_3.jpg

You need to add a material instance parameter to the curtain panel pattern based family in order to change the material to each panel in the project individually.
