Making Doors Parametric

Hi,

My door swing lines are not following the panel width, can I know how to fix this?

Attached is the family file.

Thank you!

Hey Amellionwords,

I think initially you need a few more references in certain places to help the lines associate nicely, but regardless.

With the elevation, I think you just need a half height reference (your EQ dimension). Then select both swing lines on a single leaf, grab them by the intersection, and then snap them to the vertical reference, and then snap them to the horizontal reference (the same can apply to the lower and upper central ends).

Regarding the plan view, I would associate the width parameter (which I imagine is your leaf width) to the leaf lines. Then use the line tool with the centre-ends arc from the pivot point. I then like to select the line and manually drag each line end point off the intersection and back to make sure it snaps to what I need it to.

Overall, lines seem to behave as expected if they are manually detached and reattached to the point you want them to stick to and there are enough well sorted references for them to associate to.

Hope this helps.
