Make a Family Cuttable

I downloaded a family from a manufacturer that is supposed to cut the wall it's placed on. It doesn't cut when loaded, and in fact does not recognize the wall I am trying to place it on.   Below are the settings that seem to indicate it should cut. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Enable Cutting in Views: When selected, the family geometry will be displayed as cut when the cut plane of the view intersects the geometry. If not selected family geometry is displayed as projected in views no matter the position of the cut plane of the view.

Some families are not cut in section view in Revit (autodesk.com)

But you meant, the Family is not cutting into the Wall. Correct? Is there a Void Geometry in the Family that has a "Cuts Geometry" Parameter? If so, is it associated to a Parameter in the Family?

It's a non-hosted family. You can cut the Wall with it in the Project though via Cut Geometry.
