maintenance to subscription

when switching from maintenance to subscription license, the maintenance license will stop working in the same date the subscription starts? or i have some time to make sure every thing works good?

What do you mean by "some time to make sure every thing works good".   Licence type doesn't affect product function.

Thank you for your response,
I mean - if I switch from an old suite ( building design for example) to AEC Collection, I need to change serial no/ assign users, according the the online documentation , so my question is - do I have to do it in the switch day for all station ? or can I do it gradually while the maintenance license still works for some more days ?
