Main elevation drawing

I got this drawing from a consultant I need to make it in revit. It will be a part of an elevation in a six floor building. It will go almost entirely covering the main elevation. Any tip on how to make this? It’s a 10’2” x 10’2”. It will go maybe in 4 x 4 rows in y and z. thanks

Hi @Anonymous

I would suggest you model this as a Revit family, if you are new to Revit family creation I would suggest you do a search on YouTube and watch a few guides to give you an idea or find a course near you.

Its a bit difficult on here to explain how to go about modelling it if you've not done it before but a family is the way to go.

Once you have modelled one piece you could then just array it to give you the 4x4 you are wanting.

hope this helps

… hi @Anonymous

…. You can do that in several ways

… let me show you three options (filled region,  family as a curtain wall and  simple curtain wall)

….

…. Take your picture and load it as an image in the north elevation , get it dimensioned to  10’ 2” x 10’ 2” (as you specified)

…. Now having as a base the design you can convert it into filled region

1.png

…draw a filled region following the picture and click ok

2.JPG

….copy the filled region and paste it down

… go to component – model in place

3.png

…. Draw an extrusion on top of the filled region and click ok

…. Change the color and texture if you want it

4.JPG

…. Do the same as previously ....copy the filled region down

… and create a curtain wall following the grids of the design

…. (for the curtain wall you need to go to level 1 and create a curtain wall 10’ 2”, then modified it in north elevation to get the height of 10’ 2”)

5.JPG

…. Then on level 1 draw some columns and a floor and another extrusion for the crossing tubes (based on your description)

... create some level up to level 6

.... stretch the columns to level 6

.... **** I didn't finish the curtain wall but you can get the idea ****

... then:

…. Copy – paste the family in the middle in all spots available as you want (needs to be this or the curtain wall if you want them visible in 3d view)

6.JPG

…. When you finished delete the picture

7.JPG

…. Or draw whatever you want for your elevation
